Australian Fashion Foundation awards bring out fashion celebs

Big Australian fashion names are jetting in to New York, the epicenter of US fashion, for awards on Tuesday night that give young Aussie designers a chance to make it in the Big Apple.

The competition is tough. The Australian Fashion Foundation (AUSFF) chooses just two young designers among hundreds of hopefuls. The winners, Deanna Fanning and Hannah Tan get a fashion internship that will land them with key connections and experience. Deanna will head to London, and Hannah will intern with Calvin Klein in New York.

Previous winners have landed at Diane von Furstenberg and Thom Browne among the major New York labels.

Aussie designers Nicky and Simone Zimmermann, Dion Lee and Camilla Freeman Topper and Mark Freeman of Camilla & Mark will fly in for the awards, and to show their Resort collections in New York.

Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid, Miranda Kerr, Rose Byrne and Kendall Jenner are among fans of the brand Zimmermann.
